I Am Box (Atari 2600 Game ROM)

I AM BOX is a game for the Atari 2600. You can play it for free with an Atari 2600 emulator such as STELLA. This is a true 4K Atari game. If you're ambitious, you might even put the ROM on an actual cartridge. 

This game ROM is and always will be completely free.

Logan's Run never got a video game, but it deserved one—so I made one. Box has always been my favorite character.

In this game, you are Box.

Your mission is to freeze every Runner who enters your territory. Once frozen, the Runners disappear into your vast storage facility.

There are several types of Runners attempting to escape the city. Young and adolescent Runners wear yellow. Older Runners wear green. The oldest Runners—those approaching the age of thirty—wear red.

The Runners will attempt to overwhelm you in order to escape. You must freeze them before they reach you. If enough Runners attack you at once, you will be destroyed.

Sandmen are often in pursuit of the Runners. Unfortunately, they are also hostile to you.

Sandmen are armed with powerful pistols and will fire if given the opportunity. Their weapons are formidable. Do not allow them to get a shot off. A single hit from a Sandman’s weapon will destroy you instantly.

It is a lonely existence.

But you must do your part.

Freeze them all.
